A long time waiting......
On Halloween Weekend, I drove up to Pittsburg to see my best friend get married to a lovely young lady by the name of Emily. I have n't seen my friend in about 13 years, but we have kept in touch over the years by letter, email and phone. When I got to their house in the hills of Pittsburgh, I met Emily and found her to be quite charming. Jorge was out buying items for the wedding, so I chatted with Emily until he returned. When Jorge entered the kitchen, we both hugged one another as old friends do. After all the years that have passed, we picked up as if it had only been a day or so. I apologised for not having found my way up to Pittsburgh sooner, but Jorge told me not to worry about it and that it was great to have me there now. I still thought about it though. Jorge has been a friend to me for years. It's one of those connections that comes once in a life time. Life got so busy over the years that I neglected to visit someone that means a lot to me. I 'm ashamed that I let things keep me so busy that I never found my way to Pittsburgh until now. Luckily, Jorge is a true friend and understood where I was coming from. There's a phrase that I heard that truely fits Jorge, "He's a brother from another mother". I considered Jorge the brother that I never had and it was great to be a part of a very special day for him. The wedding was fantastic. I do wish the best for Jorge and Emily as they encounter new adventures in their marriage. I enjoyed seeing Jorge's father and sister again, and meeting all of Jorge's friends and co-workers. Any friend of Jorge is a friend of mine. Oh, how I look forward to making my next visit up to Pittsburgh to visit my friend and his wife.
